Bacteria
Dangerous bacteria in some air conditioners may be making you sick. Hot temperatures and rain are turning air conditioners into potential breeding grounds for bacteria.
Taking care of your air conditioners is something everyone should do. But now, you may have another incentive. Health officials are warning about a dangerous bacteria that may be growing inside the units. It leads to Legionnaire's Disease, or Pontiac Fever. You can contract it by inhaling a water organism often found in air conditioners.
The center for disease control say it impacts your respiratory system. Symptoms include muscle and head aches, fever, chills, and in some rare cases death.
Viruses
Recent studies have suggested that certain types of viruses can be spread through AC systems. We use a Non-Toxic Disinfectant, Fungicide and Viricide, approved by the FDA in the USA to apply into AC units, killing all contaminants.

VOC’s
Volatile Organic Compounds, or VOCs, are gases that are given off of certain solids or liquids at room temperature. VOCs can be produced by either man-made items or by naturally occurring chemical compounds. In fact, many scents or odors you smell are volatile organic compounds and some of them can be potentially harmful to your health.
VOCs can be found in a variety of places, but mostly they are found indoors. Household cleaners, carpets, dry cleaning, adhesives, paint and even new furniture give off, or “off-gas”, VOCs. That’s why the concentrations of VOCs are so much higher inside. The gases get released into the air, and without proper ventilation there is no way for them to escape.

Here are the answers to three most commonly asked questions:
An aircon works by circulating the air in the room. Specifically, it sucks in the air, cools it and circulates it back out. In the process, it sucks in dirt, bacteria and mould spores. When your aircon is not in use, the residual moisture and warm temperatures in the aircon provide the perfect environment for the mould to grow.
If left untreated, the aircon will blow out mould spores the next time you turn it on and you and your family will end up inhaling it. This can cause headaches, sore throats, respiratory problems and other health-related issues such as sick building syndrome among many others.
Regular cleaning and servicing of the aircon can prevent mould from accumulating. If, unfortunately, this has already happened, you can attempt to clean out the mould yourself if the area infected is small and easily accessible but chance is it will return quickly if you don’t have the right products to clean the mould.
